Forming or Performing - Methodologies in Training Trainers
Berlin, 26-30 March 2008
During the Stakeholders meeting on training of trainers in Budapest in June 2007 », organised by the Partnership and SALTO, members of UNIQUE proposed the idea to organize a seminar to exchange and reflect on training of/for trainers methodologies. A proposal very much welcomed by the organizers and the other participants. Nine months later with the financial support of the National Agencies of the Youth in Action programme in Austria, Germany and the Netherlands “Forming or Performing” became reality.

Prepared and facilitated by an UNIQUE team (Danijela JOVIC, Mark TAYLOR and Peter HOFMANN) the seminar involved altogether 32 participants (Trainers, Youth in Action National Agencies, SALTO-YOUTH RCs, Youth Partnership) interested in development of quality in Training of/for Trainers in the youth field in Europe.

The expertise gathered at the seminar (the participants altogether had been involved in designing and running more than 60 different Training of/for trainers courses at regional, national and European levels!) led to very good discussions and reflections on the topic. The main results are summarised in the so-called “Herotic Document” which we can recommend to read especially for all those who are about to design a training of/for trainers strategy and/or course.
