Learning to Learn Project An international two-year project focussing on the development of the learning to learn competence Between November 2008 and October 2010, a European network of seven organisations joins its efforts to develop, implement and analyse innovative approaches in the field of non-formal adult education aimed at the development of the competence (knowledge, skills and attitudes) enabling the learners to plan, organise, implement and assess their own learning, in particular in view of self-directed learning. The project considers the Learning to Learn competence as the most crucial key competence for lifelong learning and, therefore, wants to support educational staff to acquire and develop competences and methodologies needed for implementing this concept of learning. This project is funded within the Grundtvig Action of the Lifelong Learning Programme of the European Union. During a practice analysis phase, twenty-seven educational activities all over Europe will be followed and analysed, partly by on the spot interviews and observations and partly by on-line questionnaires. The educational staff of the projects will be trained before starting their activities. Following the practice Analysis an evaluation seminar will take place in which the different actors in the project will have a closer look at the results of the research done. This will lead to the practice analysis report that sets the basis for a handbook that will inform and inspire facilitators of learning to introduce these developed methodologies and approaches into their own practice. The IKAB (Institute for Applied Communication Research in Non-formal Education) – Germany, the applicant and coordinating organisation; Pame Ambro (Going Forward) – Italy; LIJNA (Association of Youth Non-formal Education) – Lithuania; TiPovej! (Institute for Creative Society) – Results and outcomes can be followed on the project's website which will be updated regularly: www.learning2learn.eu
