OUR (Hi)STORY

We began working on putting our network together in 2006 and completed the formal registration process in June 2007 - if you take it seriously, it takes some time to make things work properly!

cherryFacilitating the volunteers' learning - Training course for EVS mentors, Budapest, 3 - 9 May 2009

In cooperation with the National Agency for the Youth in Action programme UNIQUE has developed and implemented this innovative training course for EVS mentors. The full report can be downloaded here ».

cherryUNIQUE Ride, Lithuania, 15 - 21 august 2009

With the support of the Lithuanian National Agency for the Youth in Action programme we could organise for the first time this experimental further training for trainers. It was fulfilling a request many trainers were voicing for a long time already - to have the possibility to go deeper with colleagues on their role as trainer, their performance, their experiences - reflect and analyse together. Well, 15 participants went through the experience; and it was so positive that we there will be a UNIQUE Ride 2 in Austria in 2010.

cherryLearning to learn project, November 2008-November 2010

Almost the whole UNIQUE network is active in this action research project funded under as GRUNDTVIG multilateral project. The project is looking into the key-competence learning to learn and how educational activities can support its development in adults.

Products of this project:

  • Literature review providing an overview over the literature on learning to learn in the 6 countries involved. (final version not ready yet)
  • Our understanding of the key-competence learning to learn.(to be downloaded here)
  • 2 training courses for the trainers involved in the 7 pilot projects and 20 satellite projects taking part in the research.
  • Report on the research . (ready in June 2010)
  • Handbook for educators wanting to work on the learning to learn competence. (ready in October 2010).
